Biography

Party to Lyne v Thompson, into which the compensation for the enslaved people on Villa in Antigua and the River estate in Dominica was paid. John Thompson of Upper Clapton was an executor of John Blackburn (q.v.); Thompson's will as 'Insurance broker' of Hackney was proved 08/04/1831. He was possibly the same man as the co-investor in two slave trade voyages in 1792-3 with a group of London and Jamaica merchants.
