Biography

Partner in the London merchant firm of Fullarton M'Donald (q.v.) and slave-owner in British Guiana. He appeared as a claimant in three large claims for the enslaved people on the Everton, Providence and Lonsdale estates in British Guiana alongside his partner Gavin Fullarton, but was not named as an awardee.

  1. Adminstration of his estate (including a 1/4 share in the Meten Meerzorg plantation) in British Guiana 1850, when he was described as 'having in his lifetime resided in this colony and having departed this life at Dudingstone [Duddingston] Loch near Edinburgh in Scotland'.
