Biography

Nephew of Jacob Sims (q.v.), with whom he was awarded the compensation for two estates in Portland Jamaica as mortgagee. Son of William Sims Sun Tavern Fields ropemaker merchant of George Yard Lombard Street whose will was proved 13/06/1826.

  1. The death of William Unwin Sims was recorded Q4 1839 at St George Hanover Square. No will has yet been found for him.

  2. William Unwin Sims served as Chairman of the Great Western Railway Company 1837-1839, committing suicide in 1839.
