Biography

Merchant of Jamaica and London.

  1. Will of William Marsom of St Dunstan Stepney proved 04/05/1776. He left his moiety of and in the two properties the Orange Grove sugar works [and] Beeson Spring Penn in Westmoreland in trust to sell. He left his wife Ann (the daughter of Captain Thomas Madge) £2000 and his mother Deborah Marsom £800 with his residuary estate going to his brother Samuel and sisters Deborah, Martha and Sarah Marsom. His trustees and executors were his brother Samuel Marsom and Jeremiah Meyler.

  2. The will of his widow Deborah Marsom proved in 1780 pleads distress, and says 'if there ever should ever come anything from Jamaica' it should be divided among her four children, the three daughters above and a son Samuel. One of the daughters, Martha, was a shopkeeper when she made her will, proved in 1813.
