Biography

  1. Administration of the will of Tobias Wall of Southampton [made in 1743] granted 26/03/1754. After monetary legacies to relatives in or connected with the Leewards (including £5000 to his sister Ann Newth [?], £2000 each to his nephews John Mills then in Exeter, William Woodley and John Woodley and £100 p.a. to his sister Woodley), he left his residuary estate including estates on Nevis and St Kitts and his sugar house to Matthew Mills of Abchurch Lane. The will was the subject of litigation in 1747, resulting in the division among his legatees of his property said to have been worth £80,000.
