Biography

Frances Andrews of New Sarum was among a group of 16 annuitants created in 1775 when each purchased an annuity from Jacob Kladen (q.v.) secured on Kladen's St Vincent property, including named enslaved people, to raise £11,000. Andrews purchased an annuity of £50 p.a. in common with almost all the other subscribers.

  1. Will of Frances Andrews widow of Bath [made with a codicil in 1793] proved 27/06/1798. Among her legacies was all the right and interest in the annuities for the lives of her grandchildren Selenah Maria Ann Bennet[t] and Mary Louisa Ball from Jacob Kladen of St Vincent, which she left to their respective husbands John Bennet[t] of Laleston, County of Glamorgan and Robert Ball of Bath.
