London merchant, partner and trustee of William Snell (q.v.) and partner of Snell's son Charles Snell Chauncy ne Snell (q.v.). To date no death-date or will has been found for him. John Lang of Winchester Street merchant was party to a deed of 05/10/1774 under which Thomas Taylor of St Vincent sold annuities of £360 p.a. to a group of London bankers and merchants including Lang, secured on Taylor's estate and enslaved people. Lang bought an annuity of £30 p.a. for his life and a further annuity of £30 p.a. for the life of Dinah Lang, not further identified in the deed, but almost certainly his daughter Dinah: Dinah Lang, daughter of John and Jane Lang, was baptised at Allhallows London Wall 13/11/1768.
