Biography

Wife and then executrix of James Baillie MP of Bedford Square and Ealing Grove (q.v.). Annuitant for £2000 per annum for life secured on Baillie's Bacolet estate in Grenada (with an additional £1000 per year during the minorities of her children).

  1. The will of Colin Baillie, widow of Harley Street, was written in 1829 and proved in 1831. In the will she said that James Frazer a Captain in the Africa Trade had by his will dated 21/07/1797 left £1000 to the legitimate children of her husband James Baillie, to be divided at her discretion, with the interest to her for life. The money was with her brother-in-law Evan Baillie late of Bristol now of Dochfour, and the interest was remitted to her by E. Baillie & Co. of Bristol. She left £500 to her son Hugh James Baillie, £200 to her daughter Colin Campbell Lloyd and the remainder between the survivors among her other four children Janet Higgins, Amelia Peach, Alexander Baillie and Evan Hamilton Baillie. She left her household effects at Harley Street to Alexander Baillie and her monetary personalty to Hugh James Baillie.
