Biography

Henry Robert [sic] Robley was recorded as one of the counterclaimants with John Gladstone and Divie Robertson as mortgagees on enslaved people on the estate[s] of Peter Campbell of Kilmory. LBS has found no trace of Henry Robert Robley, and has concluded that this was in fact Henry Robson Robley, ship chandler of All Saints Poplar, for whose will administration was granted 09/01/1849.

  1. The will of Henry Robson Robley of Emmett Street All Saints Poplar was made in 1834, and left everything to his wife Ann, who was also sole executrix. By the time Robley died c. 1848, late of 5 Clarendon Place Maida Vale, he was a widower, and an advertisement was placed for next-of-kin.
