Biography

  1. Eliza Mary, age 21 months, daughter of Dr George Troup, physician of the Bath, and Janet McDermeit, was baptised in St Thomas-in-the-East 25/05/1781. He may also be the father of Agnes Joanna Troup (q.v.).

  2. George Troup of St Thomas-in-the-East, doctor. Estate probated in Jamaica in 1782. Slave-ownership at probate: 20 of whom 12 were listed as male and 8 as female. 1 were listed as boys, girls or children. Total value of estate at probate: £2987.41 Jamaican currency of which £1500 currency was the value of enslaved people. Estate valuation included £0 currency cash, £1041.44 currency debts and £50.59 currency plate.
