Mrs Ann Ebbutt formerly Rowe

Biography

Slave-owner in Kingston and Port Royal, Jamaica, from at least 1817 to 1820 when she was "of London". She was the widow of Richard Rowe (q.v.) and had married Rev. Thomas Ebbutt at Islington in 1795. Neither she nor her second husband has been traced by LBS. She was conceivably the Ann Ebbutt widow of [Store Street] St Pancras whose will [made in 1816] was proved 03/01/1823 by her youngest child, her daughter and heir Mary, who by 1823 had married William Bungey Kingston (d. 1857), and who in the 1851 census was shown as having been born in Islington.
