Charles Lascelles

Biography

Charles Lascelles was listed in the Jamaican Quit Rent books for 1754 as the owner of 600 acres of land in St Thomas-in-the-East. He was given by John Ingledew as the father of Anne Smollett (q.v.), the wife of the novelist Tobias Smollett.

  1. James, son of Charles and Elizabeth Lassells, born 03/03/1713 and baptised 12/03/1713 in St Catherine, Jamaica. Ann, same parents, baptised 04/01/1722 in St Thomas-in-the-East aged 10 days.
