  1. The will of Charles Allen was proved in Jamaica in 1737.

  2. Charles Allen of St Ann, gentleman. Estate probated in Jamaica in 1738. Slave-ownership at probate: 129 of whom 69 were listed as male and 60 as female. 50 were listed as boys, girls or children. Total value of estate at probate: £3947.37 Jamaican currency of which £3324 currency was the value of enslaved people. Estate valuation included £0 currency cash, £38.59 currency debts and £0 currency plate.

  3. The estate of Charles Allen deceased, gentleman, was filed in the Accounts Produce in 1741 by William Williams, one of the executors.

  4. Charles Allen was listed in the Jamaican Quit Rent books for 1754 as the owner of 1242 acres of land in St Ann and 102 acres of land in St James, total 1344 acres. This may be the same man or his heir.
