Biography

  1. Adm. pens. at TRINITY HALL, May 23, 1757. [S. of Robert, Esq., late of Kingston, Jamaica.] School, Eton. Matric. Michs. 1757; Scholar, 1758. Adm. at Lincoln's Inn, May 9, 1757. Died c. 1765. (Eton Coll. Reg.; Inns of Court.)

  2. Susanna Hyde Gale of St Andrew, spinster, married Sabine Turner of Kingston Esquire in St Andrew, 21/12/1765.

  3. Will of Sabine Turner of St Stephen Walbrook proved 26/11/1766. In the will he left his cousin Sarah Baxter and her husband a life interest in his estates in Jamaica. The will is silent on his wife, Susannah Hyde Gale (q.v. under Susannah Hyde Gardner nee Gale), who later married Admiral Alan Gardner, and must have been made before his marriage.

  4. Sabine Turner of Kingston, Esquire. Estate probated in Jamaica in 1767. Slave-ownership at probate: 20 of whom 20 were listed as male and 0 as female. 0 were listed as boys, girls or children. Total value of estate at probate: £11283.86 Jamaican currency of which £880 currency was the value of enslaved people. Estate valuation included £0 currency cash, £6423.86 currency debts and £26.68 currency plate.
