Biography

Resident slave-owner in Jamaica. A warrant for his arrest was issued on the instructions of the Duke of Manchester for the murder of an enslaved man, Cuffey, in 1817 (and R.W. Fearon, the custos of Clarendon, dismissed for his delay in issuing a warrant). Ludford was reported to have escaped from the island.
