Biography

Slave-owner in Jamaica, dying c. 1741. It appears likely that it was his son Joseph who appears in the Accounts Produce for Newhall in St Thomas-in-the-Vale.

  1. Will of Joseph Millward or Milward planter of St Catherine Jamaica [made in 1740] proved 04/09/1741. In the will he left all his property in Britain to his son Joseph, and his property in Jamaica between his sons Joseph, John and Thomas, the division to take place when the youngest reached 21. He appointed his son Joseph his executor in Britain, and as his executor with his other two sons in Jamaica if Joseph should go to Jamaica.
