Biography

  1. Will of Richard Shea [formerly of Ely Place] London [but late of Jamaica] [made in 1798] proved 30/07/1800. In the will Richard Shea rehearsed the wills of his uncle Richard Shea [I] made in 1792 and his [the testator's] father Daniel Shea made in 1795, the co-owners of Seaman's Valley. Both men had since died, with ambiguity as to whether they were joint-tenant or tenants-in-common. Richard Shea II attempted to resolve this by willing half of Seaman's Valley to his cousin Dorothy Shea and one half to his sister Mary Shea.
