Rev. Israel Lewis

???? - 1841

Biography

Vicar of Long Ashton, and trustee, executor and probably heir (subject to the terms of the trusts under which she held her property) of Dame Elizabeth Smyth nee Woolnough (q.v), who had owned the Spring estate. Spring was shown for Rev. Israel Lewis between 1826 and 1830, including as 'owner' in 1829, but then passed into other hands. In his will made and proved in 1841 Rev. Israel Lewis left monetary legacies of £28,500 to one son and two daughters and coal lands at Pucklechurch in trust for these and other children, but made no mention of Jamaica property.
