Biography

Lieutenant-Colonel Daniel Henry Shaw of the 7th West India Regiment, owner of St Clair or Saint Clair estate on Trinidad and father of Maria Bridgens (q.v.).

  1. Will of Daniel Henry Shaw of Antigua proved 04/08/1803. The will is in two parts, 'Instructions' to his trustees Josias Jackson of St Vincent now residing at Bolney Court Henley, and Peter Grant concerning the property he had conveyed in trust to William Noble, and an indenture of 12/11/1800 conveying that property in trust to William Noble banker (he defined the property as his holding in the funds (specified as £11,000 in the indenture), his shares in the Globe Insurance Co., and one share in the Grand Junction Canal Company, omitting his 20 shares in the London Flour Company mentioned in the indenture), 'for the benefit of Isabella Shaw and her children by me', after an annuity of £50 p.a. to his dear mother at Winchester and £100 p,a. for Isabella Shaw, the latter as part of an allowance of £270 p.a. for the support of her and her children by Daniel Henry Shaw, and £1000 to his natural son Henry, son of Mary Ann Jeffreys.
