Margaret Dundas (née Wedderburn)

Biography

Eldest daughter of John Wedderburn of Balindean and wife of Philip Dundas, East India Company, Governor of Prince Philip Island and later M.P. In his will John Wedderburn stated that he provided for his daughters in their marriage settlements, drawn from his estates in Jamaica.

  1. Margaret Dundas died in Calcutta, November 1806. She was buried on 7 November 1806.

Her husband, Philip Dundas, died at sea on 8 April 1807 on board HMS Belliguex (in the Bay of Bengal) and he was subsequently buried on 10 April 1807 in the Protestant Cemetery at Georgetown, Prince of Wales Island (Penang).
