Rev. William Terrill

Biography

In a List of inhabitants of St Peter, Barbados, 1780, Terrill was listed as owning 135 enslaved. This was almost certainly the eldest son and heir of Joseph Terrill (d. 1755, q.v.). Oxford University Alumni shows William Terrill son of Joseph Terrill of Barbados matriculating Queen's Oxford 20/10/1758 aged 17, BA 1762; the Clergy of the Church of England Database shows William Terrill BA Queen's Oxford ordained in 1766. A second William Terrill of St John's College Cambridge was ordained in 1805.
