Resident slave-owner in Jamaica. The inventory of John McIntosh planter of St James was taken in 1828. It showed 'property' on Belfont estate appraised at £7521, including 60 enslaved people; and Vauxhall appraised at £8223 including 105 enslaved people, of which one half was attributable to the heirs of John McIntosh senior (q.v.).
