Biography

Son of William Finlason who owned Mount Zion estate in St Elizabeth, Jamaica. Inherited a share of the estate but appears to have been resident in Britain from the 1820s. Of St Pancras when he married Rebecca Burton in St George Hanover Square, 17/09/1821. Along with his brothers William and John and his sisters Mary Frances and Elizabeth Jane, Thomas was baptised by the Countess of Huntingdon Connexion in Clerkenwell, 23/02/1806.

  1. The 1841 census shows Thomas Finlason aged 45 merchant living with his wife Rebecca aged 45 and children at an address that is hard to decipher but is either Rochester Cottages St Giles Camberwell or Southampton Street Camberwell. In 1851 Rebecca Finlason widow aged 59 'fancy needleworker' was at an address that appears to be 5 Ashford Place Camberwell.
