Son of Donald Malcolm (1745-1812) and his wife Robena or Robona Elizabeth nee Ladoux. Born 9 years before his parents' marriage. He was left £20,000 currency under his father's will, the main beneficiary of which, including Alexandria and Montpelier estates in Hanover, White Hill and Barrant's estates in St Elizabeth, was Neill Malcolm 12th of Poltalloch (1769-1837), his first cousin.

Enslaved boy on Unity Valley Pen, Jamaica. Manumitted in 1795 by David Barclay and removed to Philadelphia, with 29 other freed persons from the estate, where he was placed under the care of Society for Improving the Condition of Free Blacks.
Document comprises 4 parts, written recto and verso across 5 folios: 1. An inventory and valuation of enslaved persons at Windsor Estate, St Elizabeth parish, Jamaica, 1814. 2.
