Biography

Demerara slave-owner, co-owner of Sage Pond in 1817 (as B.P. and P. Lespinasse) and of Anna Catherina between at least 1817 and 1834. Almost certainly the same man, 'gentleman of Islington' whose will was proved 23/01/1839, leaving his estate, after minor legacies to Jan Jacob Voute (a co-owner of Anna Catherina), Jan Frederick Scharff etc. of Amsterdam, to the notary Arend Jacob Guitard (q.v.) of Birchin Lane.

  1. Bertram Pieter Lespinasse had married Sally Brown 21/10/1819 by license at St Mary Lambeth. She has no role in his will.
