Biography

Widow and relict of Christopher Waterton (q.v.), her second husband. Her first husband is identified as Edward Bermingham in several secondary sources but was given as 'Mr M.S. Birmingham' in the will of Christopher Waterton.

  1. Will of Anne Waterton of New York, US proved 30/06/1823. Under the will she left the estate of Woodlands County of York to her son Robert Waterton (q.v.), unless the estates in Demerary proved unequal to supporting her other children as her husband's will intended. Her daughter Matilda Jerningham is an ancestor of the 6th Earl of Gainsborough (Matilda's grand-daughter Mary Elizabeth Dease became the countess of Gainsborough through her marriage to the third Earl in 1880).
