Year of death estimated from the Inventories of Haggatt's and Hanson's, 17 January 1822.

Apart from owning Haggatt's and Hanson's estates Simpson also had property at Eagle Hall, St Michael, Barbados. The (incomplete) inventory returned by his wife as Executrix, Mrs Margaret Ann Simpson, dated 24 January 1822 gave: 19½ acres and the following number of enslaved: men: 13; boys: 4; women and girls: 7.
