Biography

Awarded (with his wife Mary Anna Kennedy) a fraction of the compensation for the enslaved people on Woodstock estate in St Ann Jamaica as one of several dozen legatees of William White, including other awardees named Tyser.

  1. Angus Kennedy married Mary Anna Tyser widow of West Ham 25/08/1827 at St Dunstan and All Saints Stepney. In 1851 Angus Kennedy aged 46 'licentiate of Apoth[ecary] co.' born Scotland was living at Stratford Hall [?] in West Ham with wife Mary Anna aged 50 born West Ham, eight children aged 4 to 21 and son-in-law William Tyser; in 1861 the family was at Stratford Green in West Ham, presumably the same address and in 1871 at The Green Stratford, West Ham. The will of Angus Kennedy surgeon who died at Stratford Hall 07/02/1875 was proved 31/05/1875, effects under £1000, resworn April 1877 under £1500.
