Possibly but not certainly Alexander Dennistoun (1790-1874), son of James Dennistoun of Golfhill (q.v) and MP (1834-1836) for Dumbartonshire. Alexander Dennistoun had married in 1823 Eleanor Jane, the daughter of John Thomson of Nassau, New Providence.
