Biography

Awarded the compensation for nine enslaved people on Charlottenburgh or Charlottenberg  estate in St Mary Jamaica. The bulk of the compensation for the estate went to the London merchants Stewart & Westmoreland (q.v.) and Anthony Davies as receiver.

  1. The estate had been associated with Hungerford Spooner, who married Harriet Luard, sister of Peter John Luard (q.v.) in 1791 and died in 1819; she died in 1833.  Mary Spooner was presumably a sister-in-law, niece by marriage or daughter-in-law of Hungerford Spooner.
