Biography

Resident in Jamaica, but in London in the mid-1830s and then in the US, husband of Mary Susanna[h] Morris (q.v., under Mary Susannah Hylton), the widow of John Henry Morris the former owner of Kensington estate in St James Jamaica, for which the couple were awarded compensation: they were also among the beneficiaries of an award made to trustees for the Caen Wood estate in Manchester.

  1. Baptism of Frances Blanche, daughter of John Stannard and Mary Susanna Hylton of Queen Square at St Pancras Camden 25/09/1835. Her date of birth was given as 27/08/1835.

  2. 'Late of Kensington, Jamaica, but then of Philadelphia, USA' in 1840.
