Biography

Deceased creditor of Thomas Ashmeade and as such his administrator was awarded part of the compensation for enslaved people on Charlton Kings estate in St Ann, Jamaica.

  1. Very likely the Edward Bullock, late of Jamaica but now of Upper Bedford Place, London, who died in February 1824 and whose will was proved 28/02/1824. His will lists his children as Edward, Richard, James Trower, Thomas Harrison, Dorothy, Sarah Elizabeth, Jane Maria and Mary Pennington [probably Penningham] and his wife as Dorothy nee Harrison. This Edward Bullock married Dorothy Harrison in Walcot, Somerset, 13/09/1796. They had 8 children baptised in St Catherine, Jamaica, between 1798 and 1812. A daughter, Mary, was baptised at St Pancras in 1815 when the family lived at Guildford Street and another daughter, Mary Penningham, was baptised at St Giles in the Fields, Holborn, in January 1819 when they lived at 15 Alfred Place. A son Thomas Harrison Bullock was born in October 1819 and baptised in November of the same year when the family were living at Upper Bedford Place. Edward Bullock of Upper Bedford Place was buried 17/02/1824 at St George's, Bloomsbury, age 52.
