Biography

Slave-owner in Jamaica, owner of an estate named as The Alps in the Slave Registers, and also possibly the owner of Florence Hall, for which the compensation for the enslaved people attached to it was paid to mortgagees. She appears to have brought some of this 'property' into her marriage with Charles Campbell (q.v.) for whom The Alps and Florence Hall were shown in right of his wife for some years in the 1820s.

  1. Marriage 09/07/1806 in Trelawny of Charles Campbell and Amelia [sic] Drummond Irving. Charles Irving Campbell, son of Charles Campbell and his wife Emilia Drummond Campbell (late Irving), born 16/12/1812 and baptised 16/12/1813 in Trelawney. Charles Irving Campbell died at Florence Hall 30/04/1845. June 1845.
