Biography

Slave-owner on Jamaica, with ties to the Outer Hebrides. Probably the same man as the attorney of the same name.

  1. Will of Malcolm McLeod planter of Jamaica West Indies proved 18/11/1842. He left the interest on all his personalty to his sister Ann and then the principal to her son Rev. Norman McLeod, Minister of North Uist to share with his siblings, together with any surplus from Jamaica. He left his son Charles McLeod then in Spanish town his estate called Reid's Pen and £2000. In a codicil of 1842 he limited Rev. Norman McLeod's inheritance to the principal of his [the testator's] holding in the funds and made Charles his residuary legatee.

  2. The personal estate of Malcom McLeod of Jamaica was sworn by his executors at under £14,000/
