Biography

  1. Son of Alexander Ellice of Bathwick Somerset [and Ann Russell], matric. Brasenose 10/10/1817 aged 18; of Lincoln's Inn 1822, brother of James Ellice (matric. University College 1804, clergyman).

  2. Brother of Edward Ellice (q.v.) and [General] Robert Ellice (q.v.)

  3. Married Harriet Chaplin (born Blankney Lincs.) 26/07/1826 Westminster.

  4. Died 15/11/1873, late of Lombard Street and of Brickendonbury Herts., Banker, left effects under £70,000: nephew Edward Ellice was the sole executor.

  5. Described as 'Merchant' in 1841 census, when he was living at 5 Portman Square, London.

  6. Russell Ellice invested in the British American Land Company in 1835. He had two votes so had purchased between 15 and 30 shares at £50 each.
