Chaplain at Cuddalore, Madras. Allen died at Cuddalore in January 1829, 'much regretted by the European and the native Christian community. A tablet was put up to his memory in the old mission Church. He left a widow, who married Mr. F. A. West of the Madras Civil Service in 1831.'
