In 1756 William Gulstone of St. John, who had owned the Pool since 1738, albeit indebted by mortgages held in London, sold the estate to Thomas Stevenson of St. Michael for £10,000.

In 1765, Thomas Harvey of Suffolk Street, Middlesex, England, executor of the will of Thomas Stevenson, who died in 1764 of Barbados and trustee of the Pool plantation, sold the Pool to Alexander Stevenson of St. Michael for £21,531.

The Hon. Thomas Graham of Oldbury Court, Gloucester, England sold the Pool to John Thomas Lord and Samuel Hall Lord, though Graham appears to have continued to hold a mortgage given to the Lords.
