Notes

This estate was owned by John Black from at least 1817 until his death in 1825. At some point after the slave register of 1823, John manumitted his daughter Euphemia Black and her five children. Under the terms of Black's will, Margaret and her son John had been manumitted by June 1826. Black instructed that his Jamaican estate and the enslaved people upon it should be sold by trustees. Margaret was to receive an annuity of £70 Jamaican currency. His seven illegitimate children were to receive £50 sterling each. Two of his neices were to receive £1,500 sterling each and another neice £500 sterling. His residuary legatee was his nephew John McIver.
