Notes

James Deans bought enslaved people from William Turnbull c. 1819. It's not clear if he bought land from Turnbull at the same time. This coincided with his purchase of Palmetto Grove Estate c. 1819 from Hibberts, Fuhr and Purrier.

This pen does not appear in the slave registers after 1826 and may have been registered in conjunction with Palmetto Grove Estate.
