Sir Charles Long 1st Baron Farnborough

Paintings

An Evening View near a Village

Painting by Aert van der Neer. The National Gallery catalogue notes 'it once bore a false Cuyp signature' and shows it as bequeathed by Lord Farnborough in 1838. In the will of Lord Farnborough, he left 'the painting by Vanderneer and Cuyp' to the British Museum: the reference was almost certainly to this painting in the National Gallery.
