28/02/1837: "Deed of Partnership - (1) Joseph Bell Clarke of Manchester, cotton manufacturer, William Edward Acraman, Alfred John Acraman, Philip William Skynner Miles, Thomas Kington, Peter Maze, George Gibbs, Robert Bright, Charles Pinney, Robert Edward Case, George Henry Ames, Richard Ricketts, Frederick Ricketts and Henry Bush, merchants, and Peter Freeland Aiken, banker, all of Bristol (2) James George, esq., mayor of Bristol, Daniel Cave and Joseph Cookson of Bristol, esq. Present title of the Company to be "Clarke Acramans Maze & Co." with the object of establsihing a manufactory for spinning and weaving cotton in or near Bristol. Parties to the first part are all "Proprietors". Joseph Clarke, Peter Maze, Robert Bright, Thomas Kington, Charles Pinney and W.E.Acraman to be first members of the Committee with Clarke as Chairman and Maze as Deputy Chairman."
