Faculty Communications Officer

Rafael Rego joined UCL Laws in March 2025 as Faculty Communications Officer. He focuses on digital communications across the Faculty, including website management, and the migration to the new Drupal system. Rafael develops and delivers multi-channel campaigns to engage current and prospective students, supports student recruitment activities, and coordinates communications for open days, conversion events, and wider Faculty initiatives, working closely with academic staff and student ambassadors.
Before joining UCL Laws, Rafael worked at UCL’s Department of Security and Crime Science and the Office for Open Science and Scholarship, leading on communications and public engagement. Before joining UCL, he worked at the British Library as Programme Manager and Communications Lead at the Eccles Institute for the Americas, and as Information Specialist for Laws and Official Publications. His earlier experience includes communications roles in publishing and the charity sector in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
Rafael holds a Bachelor’s degree in Media Studies and Social Communication, focusing on Journalism and Editorial Production, and an MA from Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London, specialising in interdisciplinary cultural production.
