Dr Francisco de la Peña

Profile

Dr Francisco de la Peña is a practicing solicitor in the City. Qualified in England & Wales and Spain, his main areas of expertise include company law, mergers & acquisitions, corporate finance, merger control and regulation. He has a particular interest in the energy and financial services sectors.

Francisco holds an LLB from the University of Navarre, an LLM from the LSE, a PhD from King´s College London and an MBA from the University of Cambridge, and has been a scholar at Harvard Law School. Before moving in house, he practised with Clifford Chance in London and Paris, and worked in the European Commission and the UK Competition Authority. He has served on the boards of both private and public companies. Dr Francisco de la Peña has been affiliated to UCL Laws since 2004.

Past Teaching

From 2008 to 2012, Francisco convened the Cross-Border Mergers and Acquisitions on the LLM Course. Prior to that, from 2004 through to 2008, he taught Legal Aspects of International Finance on the LLM Course.

Current Teaching

From 2013 Dr Francisco has taught Company Law on the LLB course and Mergers & Acquisitions and Hedge Fund Regulation on the LLM Course.

Other Teaching

Dr Francisco de la Peña serves on the advisory board of the UCL Centre for Ethics and Law.
