UCL Laws is delighted to congratulate the following Faculty alumni who have been appointed King’s Counsel (KC):

  • Ravi Aswani, 36 Group
  • Rosemary Davidson, 6KBW College Hill
  • Robin Green, Cornerstone Barristers
  • Robert Williams, Cornerstone Barristers

The appointments were formalised during the King’s Counsel Ceremony at Westminster Hall on 23 March 2026. Appointments are made by His Majesty The King on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, David Lammy MP, following consideration by the independent King’s Counsel Selection Panel.

Becoming King’s Counsel – also known as ‘taking silk’ – is a mark of great distinction that denotes exceptional ability, professional integrity, and leadership at the very highest levels of legal practice. The appointment process is highly competitive, with only 96 new silks selected this round.

Professor Eloise Scotford, Dean of UCL Laws, said: “Warmest congratulations to our incredible alumni on their richly deserved appointments to King’s Counsel. It is wonderful to see their excellence in advocacy being recognised in this way, and we take great pride in having them as exemplary and distinguished leaders within UCL Laws’ special alumni community.”

Ravi Aswani KC is a UCL Laws alumni mentor, supporting today’s students by sharing learnings from his own career, and offering meaningful guidance and insight.
