UCL Laws students secure prestigious placements at globally renowned institutions and law firms

Fourteen students from the UCL Faculty of Laws have secured a range of highly competitive placements and fellowships with some of the world’s leading international courts, intergovernmental institutions, and law firms, including the International Court of Justice and the Inter-American Court of Human Rights.

The placements are part of UCL Laws’ Global Student Placements programme, which supports students beyond their studies through real-world legal experiences across the world, and helps them build the professional skills and networks to pursue careers in law and policy.

Professor Gracia Marín Durán, Vice Dean (International), said: “I am truly delighted that we have continued to expand our network of global student placements, and equally thrilled about the extraordinary performance of our Laws students in the highly competitive selection processes for these valuable opportunities. I am convinced that these experiences will be life-changing for the participating students in both professional and personal terms. Moreover, I have no doubt that such students will proudly represent UCL Laws’ academic excellence at the various institutions and law firms.” 

Global Student Placements 2026-27

Subject to funding and partner participation, UCL Laws offers a range of global placement opportunities each year across international courts, intergovernmental institutions, law firms and research organisations.

This year, students have been selected for opportunities spanning Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas, where they will work alongside judges, legal practitioners and policymakers and gain experience at the heart of legal practice, research and decision-making.
