GCDC member and PhD student Marie-Hélène Lyonnais was invited to appear before the National Assembly of Québec, alongside Lise Brun (Université Laval), to present their views on Québec’s proposed constitutional project (Bill 1).
In their remarks, Lyonnais and Brun urged the government to withdraw Bill 1, arguing that the bill undermines fundamental human rights and weakens the rule of law.
Their presentation was followed by a question-and-answer period with Members of the National Assembly.
Lyonnais and Brun’s full presentation (in French) can be viewed on the National Assembly of Québec website.
