García de Cortázar Presents on Obstetric Violence

GCDC member Verónica García de Cortázar presented her paper ‘Addressing Obstetric Violence and Mistreatment in Childbirth through Human Rights Obligations’ at the 116th Society of Legal Scholars Annual Conference, held at the University of Leeds from 2–4 September 2025. The presentation, part of the Human Rights subject section, examined the obligations of the State regarding childbirth under the Inter-American Human Rights system and CEDAW, and explored how their implementation can help address obstetric violence.
