UCL Laws ranked 2nd in the UK for studying law in the Complete University Guide 2026

For the second year in a row, UCL Laws has been ranked in the UK’s top two places to study law by the Complete University Guide.

We’re delighted to announce that UCL Laws has been ranked second in the UK for studying law by the Complete University Guide Subject League Tables 2026 – a position it has maintained for the second year in a row.
UCL Laws was awarded an overall score of 100% in the league table, which was released this week. Graduate prospects – the marker of alumni success following graduation – were ranked at 93%, and research quality was ranked at 91%.
The subject league table for law ranks 112 institutions to determine the best law schools and faculties in the UK. The rankings are based on data from the National Student Survey, Research Excellence Framework and Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA).

To achieve an overall score of 100% reflects the incredible quality and experience of students, the globally recognised success of our alumni, the exceptional quality of research taking place, and the dedication and excellence of teaching staff at UCL Faculty of Laws.”
