UCL Honorary Professor of Practice, Mark Anderson, has had an article, R2B Contracts: complexities and considerations when contracting with universitites and other not-for-profit organisations, published in Les Nouvelles, the journal of the Licensing Executives Society International. Mark also participated in a webcast, organised by LESI (which can be viewed here) in which Mark and his fellow contributor Dr Anji Miller of LifeArc discuss some of the main themes of the article. These include:
- differences between B2B (business-to-business) and R2B (research-to-business) contracts, including academic priorities and cultural differences;
- similarities and differences between the legal framework in the UK and the USA, eg in the areas of charities, public authorities and tax law; and
- relevant legislation on government-funded research, including the Bayh-Dole Act in the USA.
