We are delighted to share that colleagues at the UCL Institute of Brand and Innovation Law (IBIL) were among those recognised at the UCL Education Awards 2025. The winners were announced at a ceremony held at the UCL Institute of Education on 4 June 2025.
UCL's Annual Education Awards celebrate the achievements of teaching staff celebrate staff who make outstanding contributions to the learning experience and success of UCL students. The Education Awards include:
- UCL Education Awards (staff nominated by staff); and
- Student Choice Awards (run by UCL's Students’ Union, recognising staff nominated by students).
The Student Choice Awards give students the chance to thank members of staff who have inspired and supported them during their time at UCL, letting these staff members know that their hard work makes a difference. The shortlist for the Student Choice Awards was published last month. Professors Matt Fisher and Sir Robin Jacob were short-listed for 'Outstanding Research Supervision' and 'Excellent Personal Tutoring' respectively, while Dr Lynne Chave, IBIL's Center Manager, was shortlisted for the 'Amazing Support Staff' award. Additionally, IBIL's Dr Alina Trapova received nominations for both the 'Inspiring Teaching Delivery' and 'Outstanding research supervision' categories.
At last week's ceremony, Lynne was awarded the UCL Student Choice Award for Amazing Support Staff. This award allows students to thank a member of staff who isn’t in a teaching role but still makes a huge difference to their learning through their help, patience and care. Lynne was recognised for her outstanding support of the IP postgraduate research students in the Faculty of Laws. Students described her as 'unbelievably kind, always available to bounce ideas off or tackle a student issue' and praised her for going 'far above and beyond what is expected'.
Congratulations to Lynne, Matt, Robin and Alina!
